George Soros Gathers Support Against Donald Trump

Defending The Legacy
After the shocking victory of Donald Trump George Soros is gathering liberal donors to back efforts against the president elect. After backing to unsuccessful campaign of Hillary Clinton he believes it is time for Democrats and progressives to defend the current successes of the left from erosion under the Trump administration. Soros has named this organized effort the Democratic Alliance. Working together to prevent any rollbacks the gathering of liberal donors aims to eventually lead to taking back some control over the federal government.

Getting The Team Back Together
To regain power for Democrats, Soros is meeting with Nancy Pelosi, Keith Ellison, and Union leaders to formulate ways to recover from the devastating losses Democrats suffered on November 8th. In addition to losing the White House Democrats also lost ground in Congress and on the state level. Additional loses might come if president elect the Supreme Court loses any more members during the next 4 years. During their first meeting happened Sunday November 13th the discussion focused largely on how to stop Trump’s plan for the first 100 days of his presidency. With the losses incurred much of the planning won’t produce results until at least 2018 when congressional seats are up for grabs.

Here’s How George Soros’s Latest Predictions Have Played Out
Soros bands with donors to resist Trump, ‘take back power’

Life After Hillary
George Soros was a major financial supporter of Hillary Clinton’s 2016 presidential run emerging as one of the earliest major supporters of her campaign. Although she managed to win the popular vote her failure to win the electoral college comes as a major disappoint for George Soros. A major focus of the Democratic Alliance in later days will focus on forming a successful 2020 bid for the White House. The lower voter turnout and lack of enthusiasm Democrats expressed will certainly factor into these discussions.

Rethinking The American Electorate
The victory of Donald Trump is sending the current Democrat theory of voting demographics reeling. The two terms Obama received led many on the left to suggest they would not need the support of white males. Instead Democrats could rely on the support of minorities and women to reach the White House. The success of the Trump campaign defied this thinking with its focus on working class white males. If George Soros is going to help the Democrats reestablish themselves he is going to have to convince Democrats to rethink the way they brand themselves.

Democrat’s Seek A New Direction With George Soros

The Democratic party in the U.S. is seeking a new direction following the damaging loss of the Presidential election by Hillary Clinton to Republican Donald Trump. One of the top figures the Democrat’s are now looking for guidance from is billionaire hedge fund expert
George Soros, who has broken with his usual reserved stance in agreeing to appear at a gathering of the important Democracy Alliance group of donors. Many of the top figures in the party will meet in Washington D.C. with some of the most influential donors and union officials for a three day meeting that was planned long in advance of the election on Investopedia.

In recent months, the planned meeting of the Democracy Alliance had looked like it would be a celebration of the election of former Secretary of State Clinton to the Presidency on, but the surprise Trump victory has shifted the focus of the meeting to how the party can return to a prominent role in U.S. politics. The morning after the 2016 election a major change to the schedule of the Democracy Alliance meeting was announced with George Soros announced as a speaker on the third and final morning of the event.

George Soros is himself a member of the Democracy Alliance group and is seen as one of the most important members of the Democratic Party for the role he has taken as a leading donor to liberal candidates and causes. The return of Soros as a donor during the 2016 election cycle was seen by many as the perfect response to the rise of Donald Trump, and as coming at a time when major donors were looking for inspiration from a figure such as Soros; in the biography released to coincide with his appearance at the Democracy Alliance event George Soros discusses the fight with oppression he was subjected to as a child living in Nazi occupied Hungary during World War II. George Soros will once again be looked at to lead the Democratic party into the future, as he has done for a number of years in his fight to bring democracy to all the people of the world.

Universities Are Dropping The Ball When It Comes To Discussing Controversial Ideas According To Charles Koch

The United States was built on the premise that freedom of expression is the key element in the positive growth of a nation. The United States was also built on non-conformity and offensive ideas. Without the contrast, there is no growth, according to billionaire Charles Koch. Koch wants colleges and universities around the country to get back to the basics, and ignore the conformists that want to promote selective ideas and homogenized beliefs.

Koch is an outspoken businessman from Kansas. His family owned company, Koch Industries, is one of the largest privately owned company in the country. Koch is known for his financial participation, and for promoting the Republican agenda. Charles and his brother David are big donors to conservative ideas, but they are also considered liberals at times. Charles has even given Hillary Clinton credit recently for being the most qualified candidate for president.

Koch has also teamed up with Michael Bloomberg, the former mayor of New York recently even though the two men rarely have the same viewpoint when it comes to political concepts. Both men believe American universities are becoming havens for conformity rather than welcoming controversy. A large number of colleges are staying away from men and women that have radical ideas about sensitive topics. Universities are closing their borders and only accepting what “feels right” rather than openly allowing freedom of speech and expression. College administrators are afraid to upset their benefactors that have a distinct goal in mind rather than an open society agenda.

If institutions of higher learning continue to accept the norm rather than embrace the offensive topics as learning tools, the United States will continue to fall behind the rest of the world, according to Mr. Koch. Controversial people and topics must be discussed openly on campuses across the country, and Koch and Bloomberg are speaking out to help make that happen. Every sensitive issue has found a way into mainstream society in some way because they were topics of conversations on college campuses.

The ability to offend is a tool for expansion. Koch and Bloomberg want to bring offensive topics back into college conversations.

The DeVos Family of Michigan Backs Rubio

I learned that businessman Dick DeVos and his family of west Michigan had endorsed Marco Rubio following the exit of former Florida Governor Jeb Bush from the Republican presidential primaries.  Additionally, I read that powerful Republican Party members suggest that Ohio Gov. John Kasich step out of the race in an effort to strengthen Rubio’s path as well.

A major contributor to the Republican Party, the DeVos family endorsement of Rubio comes from one of Michigan’s wealthiest families. Dick’s donations have been famously referenced by the Netflix series House of Cards which Dick weighs in on here:

Amway was co-founded by Richard DeVos, Sr. Growing up, Richard DeVos, Jr. can remember the activity of the company occurring in the family home basement. Involved in Amway through his formative years, DeVos left for a short time to work with the Orlando Magic. He returned to Amway in 1993 as President. Learn more about Dick’s time with the company in this exclusive Mlive piece.

DeVos has strong philanthropic ties to nationwide projects through foundations and centers. Specifically in Michigan, the Dick and Betsy DeVos Foundation of Grand Rapids donated thousands of dollars to projects involving various charitable organizations and educational endeavors. They began working with the Education Freedom Fund in 1993, which grants scholarships to the under-privileged. Additionally, Dick and Betsy DeVos are active in The Windquest Group with developments in technology, manufacturing, and non-profit solutions. The Windquest Group recently disclosed the totality of the DeVos Family lifetime of philanthropy at nearly $1.2 billion.

Betsy shares her approach for creating more quality educational opportunities for children in Detroit.

Making an equally strong contribution to Grand Rapids civic activities, DeVos was actively involved in an effort to revitalize downtown, bringing together more than 50 community leaders. The development later became known as the Grand Action.

Ambitious plans for Grand Action included a modern arena available for entertainment as well as sports events in conjunction with the expansion of the convention facilities. Our beautiful new art museum, sculpture park gardens, and new and expanded campus facilities for Grand Valley State University were added as well.

DeVos enjoys several leisure time activities that include sailing (he is a two-time National Champion sailor), as well as a qualified jet aircraft and helicopter pilot.

He published a book in 1997 through E. P. Dutton called Rediscovering American Values. DeVos is a graduate of Northwood University and has been married to Betsy for 35 years.
