His Journey as a Medical Entrepreneur

After Hurricane Katrina and the collapse of several of Mark McKenna’s business endeavors in New Orleans including McKenna Venture Investments, Universal Mortgage Lending and Uptown Title Incorporated, he relocated to Atlanta, Georgia. Shortly after moving there, he launched Shape Medical Wellness Center in November 2007. This was a clinic whose main aim was to provide patients with a medical weight loss solution and non-surgical aesthetic procedures such as Botox, Juvederm, and Restylane.

Mark sold Shape Medical Wellness Center to Life Time Fitness Incorporated in November 2014, and he served as a National Medical Director until July 2016. While there, Shape Medical Wellness Center received Allergan Incorporated’s Black Diamond award testament to the excellent services and care the firm has provided over the years. He then proceeded to found OVME in July this year. This is a medical aesthetics clinic that is set on making non-surgical aesthetic procedures easily accessible to people from all walks of life. Dr. McKenna says that the idea behind OVME came to him when he recognized the many opportunities to change the medical aesthetics industry after working in it for about ten years.

When asked how he became so successful, Mark McKenna owes his success to the combination of goal-setting strategy and an active visualization. This is a recipe that others should reflect on.
