Your Must-Have Outdoor Checklist for Fall

Just because it’s fall doesn’t mean that you have to spend all of your time indoors in front of the fireplace. Your home’s outdoor area can still look fabulous, and you can still enjoy it well into December! This is true even if you live in colder climates of the United States.

To make sure that you get the most out of your outdoor area this fall, here is the checklist to consider for decoration and overall look.

  1. Start with the furniture first.

You’ll definitely want to spend time in your outdoor area with friends or family, so make sure that you have the appropriate furniture. A large table, chairs, benches and lounges or Adirondack chairs are a good place to start.

  1. Next, move onto plants and greenery.

Your next move will be to place some plants and greenery in your outdoor area, but don’t think that we’ve forgotten that it’s fall. You’ll need to choose plants and flowers that will be able to survive the colder weather. Some good example are mums, ferns, geraniums and cosmos. All of these plants and flowers are hardy and should make it at least until the first frost of the year.

  1. Add some warmth.

The final simple step is to add some warmth to your outdoor area. If you don’t already have a fire pit, consider putting in a table with a center flame, an oven or a fireplace. This will add literal warmth to the area as well as a sense of coziness for the fall.
